God's Love to Me

My name is Carol Njuguna, a 22 year old lady from Kenya. I'm raised in a christian home together with my sisters. I do love attending charity events to see if I can help with cleaning or cooking for children. As I visited a recent children's home by the name "Save a Soul Children's Home" at Ndeiya in Limuru, I met this young guy by the name Allan who was new to all of us. We were anxious to know where he is from but didn't know how to go about it. We could only see the different books he was holding and some were in the windscreen (front window) of the car he came with.

One of my friends approached him and I noticed he had difficulty speaking fluent Swahili (Allan’s Sheng isn’t good), only English seemed easier for him. This made us more afraid since we know most graduates love priding themselves with English. To us who didn't go to college, we always feel we bother those who went to school. Anyway, I chose to ask him to join us in the kitchen and help roll some "chapatis".. I was astonished that he just accepted so easily and followed me happily.

After that, we happened to talk to each other where he shared quotes that really encouraged me a lot. I was ashamed to have judged him wrongly by the looks. He asked me to tell him about myself and I wondered what to say since I don't have any good education background. He asked me if I came across a book called "Identity Wars" of which I had never heard such a thing before. He shared with me the content of the book and after that he gave out a copy and encouraged me to read it prayerfully. To be sincere, I knew I could not read it since i wasn't used to reading books.

A month later I just decided to try and read this book when I was at home doing nothing, and it really impacted me positively. I felt bad that I had not read it a long time ago. I got to understand God's character by reading this book. God loves us and He is waiting for us to go to Him as a Dad willing to help us if we seek Him in all ways... This was enough for me.

I also came to understand that we only have to believe in God and be assured of His true promises. It also helped me with how to handle my spiritual conflicts about who God really is, how He works, and His plans for His people who truly believe in Him.

This book has really taught me how to understand and accept my personal being..it has given me motivation to read other books like 'Faith Journey'. My life and my understanding haven't been the same since I got to read the book. I would like to encourage people, especially the youth, to read this book because it helps us understand the basis of one's self worth. I shared with my sisters and they also got some books. By knowing God and His ways more we can have more faith that He is listening to us.

 In Psalms 146:2-5 it says

While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man in whom there is no help. His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; in that very day his plans perish. Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord His God..Amen.
