Source/channel is how all blessings flow from God to creation.

1 Corinthians 8:6
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of [from] whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

God is the source of all things (“of whom are all things”) needed for life…Christ is the channel (“by whom are all things”) God uses to make life possible.

Revelation 1:1
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him [Jesus], to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John.

*The revelation comes from God, to Christ, to us.
This is how all creation operates.

*God is the source of all that is good*
Matthew 19:17 there is none good but God.

*Christ receives everything He is and has from the Father.
John 3:35 The Father gave the Son all things.

John 3:34 The Father gave the spirit to Christ without limits.
*The spirit can be called the spirit of Christ because He possesses it without limitations or restrictions.

*Christ is the inheritor of complete Divinity
Hebrews 1:1-4. Christ is God's son. Christ is an exact replica of God's character. Christ inherited the name God and full Divinity.

Colossians 2:9 Christ is the fullness of the Godhead/Divinity
*Everything God is, He gave to His Son completely.

*Christ then gives the fullness and completeness of Himself to us.

• John 1:16 of Christs fullness we receive
• Romans 5:5  all of God’s love
• John 16:13 all of God’s truth
• 1 Corinthians 1:24…30 all of God's wisdom, power, and righteousness is given to us by Christ
• 1 Corinthians 2:13-16 we have been given the mind of Christ

All creation operates by the source/channel principle.

As Christ receives full inheritance of divinity, He uses the wisdom and power of divinity to create in such a way where all creation receives a revelation of the truth of God

TYPOLOGY OF SOURCE/CHANNEL

Daniel 2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands,

• Christ is the rock
• Father is the mountain

Numbers 20:8-10  children of Israel are in the mountain of Hor. They complain of no water and God tells Moses to talk to the rock for water.

*This is Typology*

• *The rock represents Jesus
• *The water represents the holy spirit
• *The mountain represents God

Physical reality
The water is stored in the mountain [of Hor] and then channeled through the rock and given to the people.

Spiritual truth
The spirit is stored in God who then channels the spirit through Christ into us

• The water of life - the holy spirit, has everything thing good for life in it, the entire life of God

1. Love
2. Truth
3. Righteousness
4. Wisdom
5. Strength

This is freely given to man because God loves us.

And because it's what makes life possible.

Without the indwelling of the spirit, life cannot exist.
